What it takes to make Test Sessions Happen

The Test Committee is a permanent committee of the Club. Our chairman, Joan Viviano, schedules test sessions at least six times a year. As pros request test sessions the chairman must schedule ice time, procure judges and volunteers, schedule the test session, and monitor the session. After the session is finished, she must compile the test forms, compile and distribute trial judge forms, and submit a report to the USFSA headquarters in Colorado Springs. It is an exacting and time-consuming endeavor by a volunteer. Aside from expenses involved in hosting a test session there is a great deal of stress on skaters, officials and parents to deal with.

Once the test session has been announced and sign-up sheets posted at the Crsytal Ice House, ice is scheduled and officials engaged, the club is committed. It is important that the skater and the coach be aware of the sign-up cutoff and be prepared to complete the test. It is of no value to the skater or the coach to test unprepared.

The Club's stated policy, which is contained on every sign-up sheet, is strictly adhered to. It is the skaters, parents and coaches responsibility to be aware of this policy. The policy states:

WWFSC Testing Policy

All applicants wishing to test must sign on the posted sheets at the Crystal Ice House or within the dates posted. If it is not possible for you to get to the rink, telephone the Test Chairman to have your name and test listed on the sheet. All fees and cully completed test forms s well as any necessary out-of-club permission letters must be in the hands of the Test Chairman by the test date. In addition, if your name remains on the test sheet 7 days prior to the test date, you will be responsible for the appropriate fee whether or not you test. This is necessary because judges are called and ice time ispurchased based on this sheet. All necessary forms will be available at the Crystal Ice House or from the Test Chairman.

Test Sessions

Please check the calendar for Test Session dates. This summer's test session will be June 11, 2008, July 18, 2008 and August 20, 2008 at the Crystal Ice House.

Out-of-club skaters will need to fill out the permission form and have it signed by a home club officer.

Home club members receive a permission letter that can be used for out of club testing and non-qualifying competitions. If you have lost your permission letter, you can receive a copy via email by sending an emaiil to members@wwfsc.com.
