Membership

Our membership consists of over 300 skaters from the Chicago area. Membership in the United States Figure Skating Association is included with club membership.  Applications for membership must be submitted in writing to the Membership Chairperson. Classes of membership include:
  • Home Club Membership - individuals designating Wagon Wheel as their primary club.
  • Associate Membership - skaters desiring to test and use club ice during the membership year.
  • Professional Membership
  • Alumni Membership - USFSA Membership and club news letter

Download the Wagon Wheel Membership Application Form (requires Acrobat Reader). Fill out the form and return to the address indicated on the Wagon Wheel Membership form.

Home club members will receive a permission letter that can be used for out of club testing and non-qualifying competitions. If you have lost your permission letter, you can receive a copy via email by sending an email to members@wwfsc.com.

Purpose (from the club Constitution and By-Laws)

The Club's purpose is to encourage the instruction, practice and advancement of our members in school figures, free skating, dancing, precision team skating, moves in the field and other types of figure skating,  and to sponsor and conduct skating clinics for the public, so that they may better understand the sport and participate in it.  To produce and cooperate in the production of amateur ice competitions, shows and exhibitions.

Moves/Freestyle and Open Dance sessions will be offered at Crystal Ice House and Northbrook Sports Center.

Competitions

The club sponsors the Greater Fall Chicago Invitational competition at the Northbrook Sports Complex in September.

A Basic Skills competition will be held at the Crystal Ice House in April.

Starting with the 2006-2007 membership year, home club members will receive a permission letter that can be used for out of club testing and non-qualifying competitions. If you have lost your permission letter, you can receive a copy via email by sending an email to members@wwfsc.com.

Exhibition

A holiday exhibition featuring club skaters will be held in Northbrook.  Recognition of testing and competition results is made during the exhibition.

Club Organization

WWFSC is managed by a Board of Directors.  One third of the board is elected by the membership each year with overlapping terms.  Board Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month and are open to any member.
